A Hong Kong Proposal

January 10, 2011

A little while ago, we found ourselves accomplice to a marriage proposal when a dear friend from Napa Valley approached us to plan the perfect evening in Hong Kong for him and his lovely girlfriend. It would be their first visit to the city and we had been cooking up this secret plan for weeks, practically keeping in daily touch with the now groom-to-be. And, to be honest, it was difficult not to spill the beans!

The couple took in a panoramic view of the stunning skyline while cruising along Victoria Harbour aboard the Aqua Luna, the traditional and iconic wooden junk complete with dramatic red sails. Members of the crew were all in on it, standing by with a pre-chilled bottle of champagne just waiting for him to pop the question. We were ecstatic to find out that the plan was carried out flawlessly (from the delivery of the ring to planting a secret photographer on board) and we couldn’t be more thrilled for them both.

Topping off the evening: a romantic walk along the Avenue of the Stars followed by a decadent dinner at the swanky Spoon by Alain Ducasse at the InterContinental Hong Kong.
