EMPIRE STATE OF MIND

When a über stylish New York fashion stylist gets married, you can be assured that no detail is overlooked! From sourcing the perfect venues to hand-picking a select group of wedding vendors, we had the privilege of working closely with this gorgeous and fashionable couple to execute the bride’s ‘vision’ for their wedding. The bride came armed with reference photos and inspiration boards and had a very clear idea of what she wanted. The invitations were beautifully hand illustrated by a close friend of the bride and artfully defined the overall mood and tone for each of the three main events.

The weekend kicked off with a ‘Thanksgiving’ Dimsum dinner at the iconic China Club for the 130 visiting guests, many of whom were on their first visit to Hong Kong. On the second day, the couple held a Hindu wedding service at the Hindu Temple followed by an Indian inspired cocktail reception at the ‘marigold festooned’ Lawn of the Upper House, one of Hong Kong’s most contemporary boutique hotels.

The following morning, a short cruise around Hong Kong Harbour on the ‘Aqua Luna’ was a fun excursion before the intimate wedding ceremony and glamorous dinner reception. This was held at an unassuming warehouse in Aberdeen which provided the ultimate clean slate backdrop for the brief of ‘Miss Haversham’s Garden’. A colour palette of warm burgundy and mossy greens paired with cut crystal glasses and crystal candelabras set the tone for a decadent celebration that went on until the wee hours of the morning.
